Meadow

I have long been enamored with the work of Helen Frankenthaler and the American Expressionists, and their paintings on unprimed canvas and with their color field studies.  "Meadow" was painted with fluid acrylics on wet raw canvas, with the paint mimicking the effects of watercolor on wet paper, and sometimes presenting unexpected gifts.   Abstractly, this reminded me of summer at my grandparents' farm in Southwest Michigan, lying in a field of wildflowers, hearing the insects buzzing around while studying the sky for recognizable clouds.  The painting has painted sides and can be hung as is, or it can be framed if a collector wishes.
