I have long been enamored with the work of Helen Frankenthaler and the American Expressionists, and their paintings on unprimed canvas and color field studies. AND I also love Georgia O'Keefe's large paintings of flowers. "Crimson Fire" was painted with fluid acrylics on wet raw canvas, with the paint mimicking the effects of watercolor on wet paper. Abstractly, this took me to the very heart and essence of a red poppy.
"Crimson Fire" is framed in a simple black frame and ready to hang.
