Jardin a Papillons

This very large painting was a challenge for me because it is longer than I am tall. First were gestural strokes with soft graphite done very freely while the canvas was upright. I then painted it flat on the floor since it has lots of juicy paint that was poured and scraped and brushed and splattered. Because it was inspired by my garden and somewhat resembles a butterfly and a flower, it has a French name for garden and butterfly, "Jardin a Papillon".
