Amaranth

One of my loves is gardening and I am in love with flowers of all kinds, so many of my paintings -- even though abstract -- are influenced by all the images I have in my head of my garden and what grows there. I also love large shapes and saturated colors. This painting began with soft graphite while the canvas was upright. I then began painting on the floor, pouring and scraping the paint to move it in the way that I wanted. It began with watercolor and then I moved on to thinned fluid acrylics.
