Transverse: Opus #19

Transverse: a line that intersects two or more other lines.  This painting brought to mind the place in a cathedral where the main aisle crosses the space in front of the altar, where a choir usually sits on the sides.  There is something ethereal about the light and movement that touches my soul.  The painting was created with fluid acrylics and collaged rice paper, in addition to texture made by the use of plastic while the paint was still wet.  I often don't know where a painting is going until several layers in when it starts to let me know what needs to be done next.  This painting has been juried into several exhibitions, including the 11th Annual Signature American Watermedia Exhibition in Fallbrook, CA, in 2019, and the Michigan Water Color Society's Annual Exhibition and Travel Show in 2018.
