Jan's Poppies

I have loved poppies of all kinds and have captured my impression of a field of poppies in bright sunlight in the summer. The painting is on unprimed canvas and painted -- originally -- very wet-into-wet, giving it a feeling of the lightness of watercolor, and the beauty of colors mixing and emerging, with mostly soft edges. A friend saw it partly finished and fell in love with it, so with a few finishing touches, it now hangs in her home.
