Dos Pimientos

This little painting was delightful to create.  First, the background was painted with fluid acrylic in a watercolor method on watercolor paper, leaving it soft and translucent.  I then used dried acrylic paint from my palettes, aiming to create two bell peppers, one red and one blue-green, although the green turned out to be more blue than green.  I love that some of the background colors peek out between the more opaque colors on the peppers.

The paper was then adhered to a 12" x 12" canvas where the edges were painted black to form a frame around the painting.  The painting is wired and ready to hang as is for a contemporary look, or it can be framed in a more traditional manner.
