Emerging

"Emerging" is a mixed media painting that has the appearance of encaustic. It is done in many poured and scraped layers, and includes "skins" made with thin layers of gloss medium into which fluid paints, inks and metallics are drawn. These skins are then adhered to the under painting, and the entire painting is coated with thick layers of gloss medium, giving the painting depth. You will see that I've used a skin with Japanese Kanji, meaning "love", in the lower right corner. The piece has painted sides and can be hung as is, or framed if the owner wishes.
