Just Joey, Too

Just Joey, Too by Valli Thayer McDougle, Watercolor, 3 x 5

Just Joey, Too

Medium: Watercolor on Paper
Size: 3" x 5"

I paint small, affordable paintings each year for our annual Arts and Eats self-guided tour of art studios and boutique farms and restaurants here in Southwest Michigan.  These are 3" x 5"  paintings, some of which are created using texture/mark-making tools, and making use of paint from my larger paintings.  Sometimes they are experimental in trying out a color palette or a design that might be used in a larger painting.  With the special ones, I frame them in simple gold leaf frames, and these small gems are perfect for small spaces in homes or as gifts for a special someone.

"Just Joey"was the first hybrid tea rose I grew in San Francisco.  It thrived there in the cool fog because it had no more than 40 petals, and it was an exquisite rose, soft peach to coral.
