"Above - Below" is an exhibit of more than 20 artists from Southwest Michigan, who explore their perspectives on the concept of ABOVE and BELOW -- physical -- emotional -- spiritual -- cultural -- environmental -- universal.

Work varies in media, scale and materials from literal to abstract.  The exhibition was curated by Maryellen Hains, a well-known Kalamazoo professor and artist and art collector.  Look for my painting, "Cloths of Heaven," inspired by William Butler Yeats' poetry, "Aedh Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven."

My art is on exhibit through the end of the current production, "A Very Williamston Christmas," by Robert Hawlmark.  You will want to see this hilarious, witty, clever production -- a takeoff on TV Hallmark Christmas movies.  There are some who have enjoyed it so much they have seen it multiple times.  With only two weekends left, be sure to call and make your reservations now.

Arts and Eats is a self-guided tour of art studios, boutique farms and restaurants that serve farm-to-table choices. It takes place annually the third weekend in October, providing experiences not only to visit artists in their studios, but to see Fall colors in five Southwest Michigan counties.

My studio is in my home on Gull Lake. I will have paintings, big and small, abstract to realistic.  Sarah Pruitt, a talented young artist will also be with me. Sarah has weavings, digital art and wonderful prints. We would love to see you, so please drop by!

Arts and Eats is a free self-driving tour of Michigan rural regions in Allegan, Barry, Calhoun, Kalamazoo, and Van Buren counties and the surrounding rural region. Partner organizations collaborate to bring you quality experiences in art, local food, and agriculture in those little out-of-the-way places that beg to be discovered, including working artists' studios. My studio, which is in my home on Gull Lake, will be open and you will see many paintings, from large to small. I also will share information on my painting inspiration and techniques.

Potter Al Gemrich will join me again this year.  As many of you know, his pottery is beautiful, usable and reasonably priced.

I'm having a solo exhibit at our beautiful local library. The show begins as you enter the lobby with small paintings and decoupaged glass items in a window case, then continues through the lobby area and down the stairs and ramp to the children's section. Library hours are:

There will be a live reception for the NWS Volunteer Exhibition that is being held in conjunction with the 2021 NWS International Open Exhibition, a juried competition. The Volunteer Exhibition recognizes the contributions of NWS members who give of their time to serve on the Board of Directors, provide services to producing the quarterly newsletter, as well as other tasks associated with the management and operation of this large membership organization. The volunteers' paintings will be on display for the entire International Exhibition and will be for sale.
